how will I feel after my kinesiology session?
Everyone responds differently to Kinesiology but you can expect a sense of lightness, calmness, clarity and overall balance and wellbeing after your session. Occasionally you may feel more emotional for a couple of days. Always ensure you drink plenty of water after a session. This is essential with all energy work.
how many sessions will I need?
Generally, significant improvements can be noticed in 2 to 3 sessions, particularly for emotional issues, or matters with emotional causes.
In some cases, improvements may take more time, particularly for physical conditions that have built up over a long period of time.
How quickly you heal depends on what’s causing the dis-ease. And how quickly you are willing to let go of the blocks.
As your therapist, we give you every advantage in the healing process. We increase your ability to heal, and connect you to your inner strength and wisdom.
How far apart will sessions be?
Whilst you are in the middle of a significant process, we may encourage you to book in again in a week, if your schedule allows it. Or…
After a big session, we may ask you to take 2 or 3 weeks to process and integrate the shift in your life, before continuing with any further work.
When you have achieved your goals working with us, there is the option of monthly or quarterly check-ups as part of your self-care plan.
Many clients choose to work with us on a completely different issue or concern. After you realise that many of the things you’ve put up with for a lifetime can actually be changed, you might just make the same choice!
What if I’m already seeing a doctor or other therapist?
Kinesiology and Bodycode work well with other therapies to give you faster and longer-lasting results. In this sense, we are complementary therapists. We have all worked in collaboration with other health and medical specialists to ensure the best results for our clients.
We believe in holistic care. We may refer our clients to GP’s, herbalists, or bodyworkers when appropriate.
Kinesiology reduces stress
We are all aware of the toll stress can take on our lives. Stress can lead to serious illness. Our bodies are designed to deal effectively with stress – you’ve probably heard of the fight flight response.
The fight flight response
The fight flight (or stress) response is a feedback loop between the hypothalamus and anterior pituitary in the brain and the adrenals (above the kidneys). This is called the HPA axis. When stress is perceived the adrenals are quickly prompted to release hormones including adrenaline and cortisol to enable the body to quickly respond to the stress.
Digestion and immune function are immediately reduced so the body can take action. That’s why digestive problems and regular illness are common in highly stressed people.
The fight flight response is essential if you are in immediate danger. However in today’s fast paced society, many of us activate this response constantly – even if we’re not in real danger. Work pressures, traffic, deadlines, money problems, relationship stress, the list is endless … and the fight flight response is not designed to work continuously.
The hypothalamus, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis (balance) in the body becomes fatigued and stops functioning efficiently. You literally become ‘out of balance’.
Stress is sometimes called the ‘silent killer’. You can continue to live in a stressed state quite well for some time with few health issues. Living on adrenaline becomes normal.
The inevitable exhaustion is addressed with short term fixes such as more coffee, sugar hits or alcohol. If stress continues finally everything can seem to fall apart at once.
If stress continues to build up in your system you can experience many negative effects.
